When can I take the test?
The clinic urine test detects the hCG hormone from the first day of a missed period, about 2 weeks after conception. The quantitative blood test detects it from 7 to 10 days after conception, even before a missed period, and measures the exact hormone level.
What does the visit include?
- Urine test with results in 5 minutes, or quantitative blood test, and we call you with the result as soon as it comes back from the lab.
- Medical visit to calculate how many weeks pregnant you are and your due date from your last period.
- Proof of pregnancy letter for work, school, Medicaid or WIC.
- Initial labs if you wish: blood type, hemoglobin, glucose, HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B, the same ones prenatal care requires.
- Ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy is in the uterus and see the heartbeat, from 6 weeks on.
What should I do after confirming?

When should I come in right away?
Bleeding with strong abdominal pain, pain on one side of the abdomen, dizziness or fainting may indicate an ectopic pregnancy or a miscarriage: come in the same day or go to the emergency room.
