Blood Tests in Houston | Affordable Lab in Spanish

We run blood tests without an appointment or a doctor's order, with sample collection in the clinic and results explained in Spanish or English. At Clínica Hispana Nueva Salud Lawndale we are open Monday to Sunday from 9 AM to 9 PM; the most common tests are delivered the same day.

Which tests do we run?

• Complete blood count (CBC): anemia, infections and platelets.
• Comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP): glucose, kidney, liver and electrolytes.
• Lipid panel: total cholesterol, LDL, HDL and triglycerides.
• Hemoglobin A1C: average glucose over the last 3 months.
• Thyroid panel: TSH, T3 and T4.
• Others: vitamin B12, vitamin D, uric acid, PSA, hormones, pregnancy, STDs and TB blood test.

If you don't know which test you need, the doctor guides you at the same visit based on your symptoms and age.

Do I need to fast?

Yes for glucose, lipid panel and full metabolic panel: 8 to 12 hours without food, water only. For CBC, thyroid, A1C, B12 or PSA no fasting is needed. If you take medications, take them with water unless the doctor says otherwise.

When are results ready?

Glucose, A1C, CBC and metabolic panel are usually ready the same day. Hormone panels, vitamin D and special tests go to an outside lab and take a few days. We call you when they are ready and explain each value at a visit or by phone.

How often should I get blood work?

U.S. preventive guidelines recommend checking cholesterol every 4 to 6 years from age 20, glucose from age 35 or earlier with overweight or family history, and yearly if you already have diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol. A basic annual checkup finds problems before they cause symptoms.

How much does a blood test cost?
