E-Prescriptions in Houston: Sent to Your Pharmacy

After your visit, the doctor sends your prescription electronically to the pharmacy you choose, near home or work, so you can pick it up whenever it suits you. Clínica Hispana Nueva Salud Lawndale does not have its own pharmacy or sell medication; we are open Monday to Sunday from 9 AM to 9 PM.

How does an e-prescription work?

1. The doctor examines you, decides on the treatment and explains the dose, schedule and precautions in your language.
2. You tell us which pharmacy it should go to: the branch name and its address or phone number are enough.
3. The prescription is sent electronically straight to that pharmacy.
4. You stop by whenever it fits your day; if you want to be sure they received it, call the pharmacy before you go.

Why is it more practical than a paper prescription?

No one has to read handwriting, the prescription can't get lost in your bag, and you don't have to come back to the clinic if you left it at home. For people who work late or ride the bus, choosing a pharmacy along their own route makes a real difference.

Which prescriptions do we send?

• The ones our doctor orders at your visit: antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, treatments for blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol, antihistamines and medication for common infections.
• Follow-up prescriptions for your chronic treatments, renewed at your check-up with the doctor.
• Whenever one exists, we point you to the generic option, which is usually the most affordable.

We do not send prescriptions for controlled substances.

What should I know about my medications?

Always finish antibiotics even if you feel better, don't share prescription medications, refrigerate those that require it, and bring the full list of what you take to every visit to avoid interactions. If you switch pharmacies, let us know at your next visit.
