Minor Surgery in Houston | Cyst, Lipoma & Mole Removal

Minor surgery in Houston, TX: moles, cysts and lipomas. Outpatient procedure in Spanish, no insurance needed.

We remove moles, sebaceous cysts, lipomas, warts and other skin lesions in an outpatient procedure of 20 to 45 minutes under local anesthesia. At Clínica Hispana Nueva Salud Lawndale it is done by medical staff, in Spanish or English, and you walk out the same day.

Which procedures do we perform?

  • Sebaceous and epidermoid cysts: complete removal with the capsule so they don't come back.
  • Lipomas: fatty lumps under the skin, usually on the back, arms or neck.
  • Moles and warts: shave or excision removal; a suspicious-looking mole is sent for biopsy.
  • Ingrown toenails, abscesses and stitches: see their own pages.

We do not perform procedures that require general anesthesia or facial lesions that need a plastic surgeon; in those cases we refer you.

What is the visit like?

  1. The doctor examines the lesion, its size and location, and decides whether it can be removed in clinic.
  2. The area is cleaned and local anesthesia is applied; you only feel the initial pinch.
  3. The lesion is removed and, if needed, closed with stitches.
  4. You receive written instructions and the date to remove the stitches, usually 7 to 14 days later.

When should a mole be removed?

When it changes in size, color or shape, has irregular edges, measures more than 6 millimeters, bleeds or itches. These signs are not always cancer, but they justify removing and analyzing it. Biopsy results come back from the lab in a few weeks and we call you to explain them.

What care do I need afterwards?

Keep the wound dry for 24 to 48 hours, change the dressing daily and avoid strain on that body part until the stitches are out. Come in if there is heavy bleeding, pus, fever or spreading redness.

How much does minor surgery cost?

The price depends on the type and size of the lesion and includes anesthesia, supplies and stitch removal; the biopsy analysis, when applicable, is billed separately. Ask for the price when you arrive or call us at (832) 530-4188: direct payment by cash or card, no insurance needed.
